Amtrak Cascades Train #513 made a stop for some passengers at Edmonds, Washington. The horn was kind of like a sick horn because the horn was behind the locomotive exhaust. But it really helped when trains go high speed, so the horn was louder then ever.

A CSX rail train passes by Worcester, MA station on the beautiful spring day of May 22, 2007. Next, an MBTA commuter train, P513, arrives and terminates. Finally, Amtrak 449, the Lake Shore Limited, arrives and departs for Albany-Rensselaer, NY.

Amtrak Cascades train #516 stopped for some passengers at Edmonds, Washington.
Note the unit leading is a NCPU (Non Powered Control Unit), and they are former F40PH. Most are scrapped, still used a NCPU, or leased from other railroads. Some has sliding doors for baggage compartments, but the Cascades Service don't, because the coaches (talgo series) have baggage compartments.

Amtrak's "Pere Marquette", #371, crashed into the rear end of a Norfolk Southern freight train in Chicago on November 30, 2007. 51 of the 187 people aboard were injured, 5 seriously, all of which were crew members. The cause of the accident is not yet known on December 1, 2007.

The day that was: 05-26-07. To get this much quality footage on this run was amazing. The Empire Builder beginning in St. Paul, MN and ending in Hastings on BNSF and CP tracks. There is some good audio here of the engines going full throttle and some unique shots taken. Enjoy

On a gorgeous autumn day, Amtrak #449, the Lake Shore Limited, arrives at the Worcester, MA station. The train departs westbound for Albany, NY. A CSX mixed train rolls by and a CSX stack train comes off the Providence & Worcester line. MBTA #P513 arrives from Boston and terminates.
